Mouline Rouge: Everything Expressed with Colors
On this passage from the movie Mouline Rouge we can see a stage show, a star, a powerful man in love and a whole audience full of what it seems rich people. But if we look deeper we see that that´s not all we´ve got. The colors used in this scene, make an amazing difference, from the Sun Yellos mixed with golden used at first, to the pale blues and silvers used later on. They are opposite colors but with a meaning.
My mocaic
My Mosaic is inspired by the movie Kill Bill.
Whe
n Uma Thurman we
nt to the air port, she said:” One ticket to Tokyo” and took the ticket. Then the movie scene focuses on a plane ticket where is a red arrow and a circle on it. Although this scene is very simple, I think it contain lots of information.
Red means danger and exciting, so I use red color to create the arrow and circle. It’s easy to understand that this trip will be very danger and exciting, most importantly, filled with blood.

At the start point of the arrow is a yellow spot, you can easily tell that this is Uma Thurman. Yellow is the main character of the heroine.
In the movie, there are lots of bad guys dressed in black and riding bikes. Bla
ck means bad and evil. So I put some black spots in the circle, which means there are lots of bad guys waiting in Tokyo. I think it’s a perfect expression of the scene.
There is a white spot surrounded by those black spots, that’s the boss. Although white usually means pure and kindhearted, but in this case, it makes people feel bad. I think the direct was trying to set off by contrast and succeed.

This picture is inspired by my mosaic.
As you see, I created my mosaic with lots of dots, and those dots are colorful. So, when these two things combine in my mind, the first thing came to me is m&ms.
They are round and cover with different colors.
In some ancles, they just looks like a beautiful mosaic.
About my mosaic ............by Hyun Jung Oh
The reason why I chose this movie is because it impresses me.
While I watch this movie, I am about to cry. It is a sad movie. There are two main characters in the movie: a woman and a man. They love each other, so they get married. But few years later, a man dies. Even though, they can’t meet each other, they can feel love from each other.
In addition, another reason why I chose this movie is that there are various colors in this movie. Colors make me more impressed.
Even though they are living in a different world, they can contact each other by her picture. They can communicate with a purple tree. I am wondering why she draws purple tree instead of the other color. It is not a real color of tree. However, I realize that a purple color makes me sadder so it presents her sorrow.
I draw a purple tree at the middle and two people leaning on the tree on the each side.
The woman clothe color is white which means she is still alive; however, the man clothe color is black which means he is dead.
Red is symbol of love because it make us feel passion.
In this may ,we are seperated . Because i will go back to korea ,which is my country. But he will stay here forever.
It is a very sad story. So i choose gray color of background .
That means that sad feeling of seperation.
But in this picture,we are holding hands together.
My mosaic: What Dreams May Come
"Blue": represents the feeling of melancholy, sorrow and cool. (For Annie, it conveys the deep sorrow for losing her husband)
- loyalty: Annie loves Chris no matter what is he alive or dead. Her love is endless. Nothing can't change or destroy her love to her husband.
-sentimentality: She can't get rid of her despair and hopelessness from her husband's death.
-mystery: This couple is strongly connected with each other by the wife's painting. This supernatural phenomenon is just like a mystery. It's hard to understand what the reality in the clip is since the two main characters keep struggling between dream and real life, heaven and hell.
Therefore, I was trying to take pictures from maybe a purple and blue tree but I couldn't find it so I just take pictures from some purple and blue flowers to help me convey my feeling for the tree in the clip.
