I think contrast is really good instrument when we emphasize something. That’s why I chose the “Kill Bill”. I think this movie expresses well the color contrast between vivid and strong colors. I love the color contrast between black and white, white and red, and yellow and black. The scene that I wanted to make as mosaic is chasing scene. I really liked color of the red sky when Uma Thurman flew toward the kidnapper. I could feel Uma Thurman’s anger thorough the ruby red sky.
Also, wearing ice-cold white clothes woman in the black car is so impressive. The color contrast of this scene attracted my attention. I could feel her inner strength and her personality through the contrast between strong black and ice-cold white colors.

I made a mosaic with these two scenes by combining of them. On the left side of the mosaic, I made the kidnapper and their subordinates. I expressed the kidnapper who is wearing white clothe by made a white window. Four black triangle shapes which is surrounding the black car are her subordinates. On the right side of the mosaic, I wanted to express Uma Thurman who was chasing her enemy. She got on the white plane and flew thorough the red sky. Five bright yellow thunderbolt shapes are representing Uma Thurman, because yellow is her symbol. I wanted express that she is stronger than her enemy. That’s why I put five thunderbolt shapes on her surroundings.
I took a photo of this flowers because I want to express the color contrast through my mosiac and I think it shows well the color contrast between yellow and black, and black and red.
I think this photo shows well Uma Thurman. Not only her symbol color but also her image in this movie. She is strong woman which has a tough spirit. The word "CAUTION" which is written by dark red is express her inner strenght.
I really like your mosaic and all of pictures you took. The idea of useing contrast color is really impressive for me. Besides, your descriptions from your mosaic are also quite match with the pictures you tool. They all convey the main theme- which is the emphasis on contrast colors.

As I saw the movie, Kill Bill, I didn't notice the contrast in this scene at all, but I like the meanings of the symbols that you put to everything in your mosaic, and during the presentation you explained them well, I think it's not difficult to understand!

I think your mosaic is very creative. The last picture means that yellow represent Uma Thurman who is the main charactier in this movie and it also means warning to other people. So I love your last picture!!!

ReplyDeleteI love your mosaic best! Because it vividly express the main plot of the movie. The color you choose is good too, black for evil and yellow for the Uma, the contrast is very sharp and strong. It impressed me when I first saw it.
